I have a mare that the best way to describe her winter coat is a “Fuzzy Teddy Bear”. Its thick, coarse and dull. always has been. This year I started feeding Black oil sunflower seeds, 1 cup at night with her grain, and within a couple weeks her winter coat started to SHINE! Like showsheen shine! And now her coat has come in even more and is nice a thick still but is nice and slick and smooth and so easy to clean! This mare LOVES the mud and now I don’t mind, I can just brush it off. You may not be looking for a feed to change your horses coat and skin, but this worked for me and my mud problem on mares teddy bear coat. Good luck!
