Hello. If your horse currently has cracked, raw, scabby spots on his face, then the sunblock is doing very little. Until you get the face healed, the sunblock isn’t going to really work. ( I know this by experience.) My mostly white paint is burning so bad this year that I have to stall her from dawn until dusk. Once I treated her face and got her face to heal, she was much better with the sunscreen protecting her face. (She is also a Houdini with a fly mask) I put vetricyn and aloe Vera on her face and body 2x a day and within 4 days no more wounds! And hers were terrible.
