Let me start by saying that I’m definitely not a Hanoverian expert. However, I did talk to a fellow SmartPaker who had some great advice. According to her, some Hanoverians have the brand on their hip and the last digits of their universal equine life number (registration number) under the brand or on their neck. However, it’s unlikely your horse would be registered without the signature Hanoverian brand on his hip – some of them are really, really faint and can only be seen on a chilly day when the horses hair is raised or when they are clipped.
