I’ve had my sheepskin half pad for about six months now, and it is definitely time to wash it. I’m really worried that the sheepskin is going to get clumped or matted though. How should I wash it to keep it in the best condition possible? Can I use a washing machine? Any soap you recommend? Thanks!
There are products such as Melp, that are designed specifically for sheepskin but I throw all of mine in a gentle cycle, no detergent, cup of white cider vinegar, air dry about once or twice a month (I use mine every day). If detergent IS needed, I use a very small amount of baby shampoo, absolutely NO bleach. Best if one brushes the sheepskin shortly after EVERY use. Natural fibres tend to wash more easily and will not bind, matt or pill if regularly maintained and will last forever : )
Sure there's right and wrong but mostly there's just a whole lotta different.
I normally wash my half pad in a regular washer with regular detergent and I never dry it because I have had ones that shrink hope this helped!
Is there a good way to wash it wihthout melp? I don’t have any.
