I am selling my 19 year old thoroughbred and looking to take a younger horse with me to college. I want a horse that can jump 2’6″ to 2’9″, and preferably around the 6-10 year age range. It’s a lot to ask for the small budget that I have (less than $3000) but I’m just looking for a horse that I can advance with and build my confidence on.
Ok, I had another thought for you this morning….you might check out New Vocations OTTB — they rehome OTTB’s & from what I have seen of their website, they look & sound like a first class operation. Their adoption fees, I think, are VERY reasonable, & it sounds like they actually spend time riding & getting to know the horses they adopt out, therefore making it a better match for everyone. http://www.horseadoption.com/thoroughbreds/
I *think* that is the correct link—you might look into it!
You are most welcome. I think I like this rescue group so much becuase when I got my OTTB, I used the book that they have written about retraining, & it just made sense. They have some beauty’s on their website right now! If I were in the market, I would definitly consider using them. Best of luck to you!
