Hello everyone! I was wondering about something when it comes to horse treats. Can I use regular plain oats (like oatmeal oats) from the store or does it have to be from a feed store? I don’t keep any grain or oats on hand except for Nutrena Safe Choice Senior. I am not sure if there is any difference between them. I just want to be on the safe side.

    Recipe:(In exact wording)

    2 sliced apples
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup oats
    2 tablespoons margarine

I wouldn’t use the instant oatmeal. If considering the regular, I suggest reading the label very, very carefully.

It is never the horse's fault

Oats from the grocery store is fine and oats from a feed store is too. I hope this helps!
