While I do enjoy riding my gelding, wouldn’t it be nice to be helping someone else in the process? I am on a mission to find a purpose that needs awareness or support (either equine or human therapeutic relate) and start blogging. The blog would consist of updates of progress my gelding and I are achieving, Show updates (Only local level shows that we attend), and also would like to include stories of the organization that we are trying to bring awareness too. While I’m not looking for any kind of sponsorship for myself, (Although that would be nice) I would like to share experiences with my gelding as we embark on the adventures of new disciplines and even traveling to local shows. I feel that my gelding, Zen Type, would be such a great attribute for a cause since he has a fantastic personality, HIGHLY Photogenic (Like those long slender legs, I positive he was a model in a past life..), and has over come several challenges. He was NOT a rescue horse, I have been in contact with all of his previous owners and he has always been loved. I would love to add a purpose to my riding with the blog and need your help! Any possible leads to an organization in need would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Let us know where you are located. Maybe there is something area specific or state specific that someone could suggest.June 4, 2015 at 9:14 pm
I’m located in Northern Illinois, thank you for pointing that out 🙂June 4, 2015 at 10:58 pm
Since you have an OTTB you might try THT (thoroughbreds helping thoroughbreds). Their website is http://www.thtillinois.com and they are starting their 4th year of trying to raise awareness for OTTBs.June 5, 2015 at 9:09 am

I believe right now they are more in central Illinois, but you could be a big help to them in expanding to northern Illinois. They are a young organization, just starting their 4th year, so they could use all the help they can get. Maybe get some friends and fellow boarders on board, spread the word around and help get a show organized up there. I look forward to reading your blog. Best of luck.
