I've been riding off and on most of my life, first hunt seat (briefly), then Western, then dressage. I first had my own horse living on my own property when I was in my 20s. No desire to show, so I trail ride, using my old Passier dressage saddle. I've owned grade horses, Quarter Horses, and four American Saddlebreds. All my ASBs had personality to spare, were very willing, and very beautiful. My current horse is a bay Morgan mare, who's almost as beautiful but shorter. When I'm not in the saddle, I write books--mostly about horses. The one most people know about is BACKYARD HORSEKEEPING: THE ONLY GUIDE YOU'LL EVER NEED.
